Promotor of the year 2009: Prof. dr.
W.B.F (Werner) Brouwer!
Every other year, Promeras organizes a 'Promotor of
the year' election. We've asked the PhD studenets to nominate their promotor
along with an extensive motivation on why he/she deserves this title. This
year, a total of 19 nominations were send to us of 15 promotors. We' ve
compared the nominated promotors on several properties, mainly: the ability to
motivate and guide PhD students, the knowledge of their work, the room he gives
to develop their own ideas and the stimulation of activities beyond the course
of their PhD-projects.
Bases on these criteria, we’ve decided to elect ‘Professor Werner Brouwer’ of iBMG as the ‘Promotor of the year 2009’!
As Promeras, we want to congratulate him with the award and we want to wish him good luck in his further career as a professor!

Promotores-Promovendi quiz
On Wednesday the 18th of February several PhD candidates competed against their Professors in the first Promotores-Promovendi quiz from Promeras. Many people came to cheer for their favorite contestant. The quiz was persuasively won by the PhD candidates! Hester Lingsma, PhD student at the department of Public Health, turned out to be the best contestant of this years quiz. Promeras looks back on this event with great pleasure and hopefully this battle of the titans can become an annual event!
